Services question regarding hard drive usage when idle.

My main C drive is working slowly all the time and I'm not sure why. I have disabled the indexing service, but i was wondering if there is anything else that can cause this? Im sure its something simple that ive missed.

    any ideas?

Virus scans, defraggers and so on can all end up scannign a drive constantly if they get a bit confused. Check your startup stuff, if it's something in there it'll be obvious.

Personally I'd just start clicking end process until the noise stops

I turn off system monitoring, that really whores some resources at certain times.
