Wondering about ps2 emulation (legal, no worries)

    Hi all,
I was just wondering what emulation for the ps2 is looking like as a long time ago i had an offer for a cheap copy of FFX for ps2 (from a mate £5) and was wondering if the emulators were ready to play retail games not just homebrew or things like that. I played plenty of previous FF games for ps1 on my pc but since i owned them all it was legal.
Any news is greatly appreciated from people that already know otherwise i am perfectly willing to delve into the world of spyware and 'naughty' ads but if people regularly check these or have the knowledge already they could save me some time .

I think its safe to post a link to this site since they don't post any bios which is illegal... so you will have to find your own from a source.
You need an incredibly fast computer (such as mine to get anywhere near playable but it is getting better and better), I have been able to play phantasy star universe so far on the PC. Have not tried any other games since thye released the new graphics plugin.

There is no "legal" way to emulate and play PS2 games on your PC.
All emulators need a copy of the PS2 bios which is illegal to copy and download.

Wrong People have created their own versions of the bios that are 100% legal as they are their own works..true these tend to be buggy and only work with select games but they do exist.

It's also a bit of a grey area when it comes to the bios - if you own a PS2 I *think* you can technically back it up on to your PC and use it if you do it yourself...but i;m not 100% sure on this so don't quote me
