    Notepad2 is my weapon of choice - it's less fancy, just notepad with useful features added.

    quite crazy that this thread is still running i've plumped with Textpad for the time being, sorted me out for my html/php stuff and i like the fact that its added itself to the context menu so i can textpad everything

    but if you can't be bothered to learn the power of vi then I would go for textpad (like you have), there is a massive syntax library on their website too so you should be able to use it for most things

    I use Notepad++ there is the usual syntax highlighting for a number of languages, but you can define your own schemes too. Not bad really

    Another vote for Crimson Editor, simply tons of syntax files and it's quite a slick little editor.
