Question Is SETI really worth it?

Just a quick thought, how many people out there crunching numbers for SETI think there is actually anything to find, and if there is how likely we are to find it?

I think there's a very slight possibility that there could be other stuff out there, but I doubt it, and SETI never really has found anything substantial, and I doubt it ever will.

Theres 1 inhabitable planet out of the 9 planets around this star, theres 100,000,000,000 starts in this galaxy, theres 100,000,000,000 galaxies in the universe. The chances theres nothing out there are too small to calculate.

All we're waiting for is a snipit of the first radio broardcast ever made on another planet, and they're probably waiting for ours as well. Our signals have already reached over 10,000 stars so maybe they know we're here, and have already sent a signal back towards us. Its always been a waiting game and always will be.

I'ed go back to seti if they got a better reciever as I do feel its worth monitoring all the available background data wafting its way across our planet.

Does anyone know if they are still using the same dish with seti 2? I know only that its moving to parks(?) in australia.

There are two parts to SETI2 - AutoPulse and Southern Hemisphere SETI. You'd find more details on S@H website.
