mysql automatic backup

I need a freeware mysql program that I can use to automatically back up approx 5 databases every day. these are all on different web servers and i would preferably like to specify which folders the backups go into and specify a template name ie. shop131106.

all the servers use phpmyadmin but how can i setup a cron job.

I don't tend to get access to the command line normally just ftp access/mysql access to the servers as most of the sites use shared servers (easily, heart internet etc)

at the moment i have the joyous task of exporting the databases each day

ask your admins to give you access to a local shell with a cron

thats all there is to it - the rest is automateable. no shareware/****e required.

tbh, admining a unix-based database without shell access is a bit like trying to fix cars with your bare hands, you need tools darnit - ask your provider if you can setup crons and get shell access or some way to edit a cron if there is no shell access available - if you're lucky you'll get some form of ssh access.

I was using navicat for a while and i could use that to conenct to and backup databases.

trial has now expired and my work dont want to pay for a program.

sqlyog looks like it can do autobackups anyone used it for this?
