XP has a proper tool for transferring the data so it picks up everything. Although iirc it's limited to My Documents ... think it's called transfer wizard.

Oh and have you got all your game saves? I've made that mistake too many times and had to start again on some big games

And do you have Steam for RO or anything else? Back up the entire folder somewhere (just copy and paste is quick and easy and is all you need.

You're usually pretty safe if you backup the contents of the Documents and Settings/%accountname% folder- you'll be backing up more than you need, but pretty much everything should be in there.

Bookmarks are the main one I kick myself about whenever I forget. Make sure you have your motherboard drivers too, as often your internet wont work without them.

    Game saves?

Best advice is just to stare at all the programs you use regularly and think if theres anything stored by them you need. FTP passwords are one I always need.

    Exactly.

It's annoying taking folder A and B... Then finding out your savegame is in the Application Data\<Game Company>\<Game>\SaveGame folder. >.<

So take the entire Docs & Settings folder for your username.
    That should contain everything.
(Along with any configs in program Files you want to keep to avoid having to reconfigure proggies... Like FTP software)
