Removing the nag from Windows Login on XP

    Hi, can you :-

Remove the little text that appers next to your login name at the front of Win XP. You nkow the ones that say "1 email waiting" etc. I think it is due to MSN Messenger but it is PIxxing me off !! No matter how much I clear my proxy settings and cookies etc and check my email it still asys I have 1 mail waiting !!!

    thanks.

There's a reg fix you can do which just disables the showing of the email.
Don't need to log out of your passport or anything.

    - Click Start -> Run -> type regedit and enter
    - Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ UnreadMail
    - Double-click on the dword MessageExpiryDays in the right column and set the value to 0, then click OK. (Note: If MessageExpiryDays not exists, just create one and set the value to 0)
    - Close your registry editor.

Your PC now should have the unread email notification turn off.

Windows Tweakui also has a setting to remove these consistently after a specified time.
