    FireFox 3 - Alpha

Thought some of you would be interested to know that an Alpha version of FF3 has been released by mozilla. Firefox 3 is a complete overhaul of the current browser. FF3 will be running on the Gecko 1.9 engine which passes the acid two test and also has many other vastly updated stuff. More information is available here.

If you do decide to check it out then I strongly recommend you go here to read up on running two FireFox installations side by side. You don't want an alpha over writing your current installation/settings/profile.

If you can't be bothered reading all that information and finding the download link (and i don't blame you) then you can download it via FTP here

Don't forget that Firefox 3 will only be supporting Windows NT platforms out of all of the Windows versions (due to Cairo if memory serves). That means 95, 98 and ME will all not work with Firefox 3.

I seem to remember reading a while ago that one of the advantages Cairo will bring is that you can scale the images easily - in other words, just like Opera, when you zoom in and out, images will zoom as well. I know there are extensions that already do this, but it would be nice to have this in Firefox itself.

    Release notes: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/fire.../releasenotes/
"Well, there was your Uncle Tiberius who died wrapped in cabbage leaves but we assumed that was a freak accident."

But being realistic, who uses Win9x anymore?.. why bother supporting something that hardly anyone uses anymore, anyone in their right mind wouldn't with exception to machines used for legacy applications/games.
