    norton ghost

    can norton ghost be used to ghost my serial hard drive?

    Hmmmm.... Norton Ghost doesnt seem to like SATA being active on my machine..... If I want to ghost my HDD I need to enter the BIOS and disable SATA first and it works fine.


    Give it a try.

    ps wot mother board did it work with that u managed to get it to ghost?

    YOU can try to run it with the switch -FNI or you can get a new ghost.exe over liveupdate or ring support.

    You do not need to deactivate SATA you just need the newer exe file.

    ive tried creating a new boot disk after live update still no joy!
    someone please tell me how to ghost with an asus p4p800?

    Kingabs, you need the new exe, have a look at this first then ring support if you think it still wont work.

    did you try the -FNI switch? That stops the drive being communicated with over the IDE and uses the BIOS instead, that WILL WORK, it was the only fix there was before the new patch came out.

    Abs mate when you run Ghost from the command prompt/DOS menu type in "Ghost -FNI"

    Might work.

    Ghost is such a brilliant app. V2003 has been great for backing up my windows partition on my SATA HDD.
