    Which Content Management System?

    Hi All,
I need to knock up a few websites quickly. I'm rubbish at web design, so a CMS system seems to be the way forward. I've been playing with Drupal, but it seems to have relativly few pre-done skins.

Can anyone recommend another easy to use CMS? I've looked at XOOPS, but it's looks way more complicated.

    Cheers...

    Tom

Erm there seem to be plenty of skins (or themes) here:

Joomla is the way to go, easy to install and use and the best supported one out there.

Beat me to it Nick, i've used Joomla in the past, and its very good.

Easy setup, very easy to use from its web interface, and lots of plug-ins for it ("Mambots" if I remember correctly!).

I took a while to get my head round how to have a non-static front page, but its not too hard to work out

i looked into joomla myself, but the lack of any decent forum module really does seem..... stupid!

i use E107 here myself, terrible name, but its a great, reliable, free CMS, with quite a few free skins and loads of modules

Tom - drop me a PM if you're dabbling with Xoops... as one of the support people involved with the project ... I'm not being too big-headed when I say I know my way around it

I'd say WebDeck, but it's probably a bit too expensive

You can install Simple Machine Forum and get a "Bridge" that links the two systems together, they work really well these days and I have been using them for the past year.

You can even get SMF themes that match your site theme. I use http://www.rockettheme.com/ for all my themese etc.

for a first time user, that sort of thing is very intimidating, and having the forum intergrated as a module has many benefits when it comes to managment and maintainance

Its actually a very easy process to install. There ia great FAQ and install manual on the SMF website.

Took me me five minutes to do.

Yes - we've recently had a SMF bridge added to Xoops as well.
