One simple way is to right click on the folder go to properties, and hide it also if you are logged in as an administrator you could remove permissions off the relevant folders so no one else can see them when they log in.

If people are using the same login the above will not work, but different folders are controlled by the owner of the folder. ie whoever created that particular folder has rights to it, so you can stop people viewing contents of the folder by removing viewing access.

Gets a bit more complicated than this, but you could try logging in as yourself creating a new folder then giving it permissions so no one can see it then. Login as a guest and see if the folder is visible it should not be.

Just something for you to try. This is using xp professional not sure about home edition though

I'm sure there's something newer and stronger, but HideFolders XP does all I need. The data doesn't get encrypted or anything, so if your system (or HideFolders XP) dies a death, the data is all still there (and unhidden). I've no idea how it works, but it's all hidden, and untouched... sneaky. It can all be password protected with a boss password too.

It's not free though (though there's probably an alternative), and didn't work with Vista RC2 the last time I tried it.

Shareware should do the job, but because of the "suspicious" nature of people passwording folders, many are simply viruses or spyware. Be careful is all I'm saying.

In XP itself you can only make the 'my documents' and subfolders private, and only from other users, not from someone using the same login.

Nah, you can impose security restrictions on any user folder, on any drive. In XP Home it's a little tougher to get at I believe, but it's easy in Pro.
