    FTP Error, No such directory?

Hey all, im having a crack at setting up an ftp using bulletproof ftp.

i've been testing it out, and users cant seem to get to the file. heres a lil sample of the log:

    Code:
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - (not logged in) (86.4.223.224) > USER Jen
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - (not logged in) (86.4.223.224) > 331 Password required for Jen.
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - (not logged in) (86.4.223.224) > PASS ********
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > logged in.
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > 230 User Jen logged in.
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > TYPE I
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > 200 Type set to I.
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > PASV
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:20 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > 227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,1,11,53,124)
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:41 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > CWD /folder/DSCF0126.JPG
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:41 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > asked to change directory : 'G:\FTP\ -> G:\FTP\folder\DSCF0126.JPG\' --> Access denied (No Such Directory).
    (000016) 1/3/2007 6:14:41 PM - Jen (86.4.223.224) > 550 CWD failed. '/folder/DSCF0126.JPG' : no such file or directory.
Even though the file is there, it seems to be inaccessible
Any thoughts would be much appreciated

    Cheers,
    Steve

CWD is only used to change directories, you can't CWD to a file. Maybe what you want is PUT/GET (broke ftp client maybe)?

its using My Network Places on her machine, or through internet explorer. Thats what i couldn't figure out: why is the server treating the JPG as a directory, rather than a file?

According to the log, the FTP client is passing CWD to a file, so the server is rightly rejecting the request. Try using a dedicated FTP application, like FileZilla, and see if the problem persists.

thing is though, i can serve the picture to any other PC on the network, without problem, but as soon as i try on a computer outside the network, it goes belly up?

i cant try filezilla atm, as my girlfriend is here, but i will give it a shot later.

    its a strange one
