    Best WMV encoder?

    Hi
I'm looking to convert various avi's to wmv.

What would be the best encoder to use? Cost and speed are not really an issue.

If I was encoding to mpeg or avi, I'd know what to use. But I don't know if there are any differences when encoding to wmv.

    Any help appreciated.

in the end, it all goes through the same codec (the microsoft wmv9 encoder)

Fair enough. Just wondered if there were different encoders for wmv in the same way there are for mpeg.

Remember, you are comparing a closed vs open standard system. MPEG is still laden with copy rights, but at least the specification is readily available
