    Tally help in excel

    hi all,

I'm just putting together a tally spreadsheet to record telephone calls.

Essentially, I want to be able to take a telephone call and then record what the call was about and whether it was positive or negative. I have a list of possible categories and I only need a tally of figures.

I'm fine with creating a clickable button, running a macro to add to a tally ... but I don't know how to add the tally to a designated cell rather than an active cell.

So I want a macro to select designated cell, add value+1 ... and then I'll add a save function in as well.

    Thank You

just going out to work, but off the top of my head look up the cell property of the worksheet object in the help files. IIRC there is an example there.

    Thanks herulach,

I just had a look and I can't seem to find anything that is of any help, or I'm being blind. I'll do some more searching around on the help files, but as you can see I was up past 1 faffing around with this

Yep, it was the cells property of the worksheet object. basically:
    Worksheets("<name>").Cells(row, column).value = <value>

where <name> is the name of the worksheet, and row and column are integers.
