    CD Ripping

Hi I have an ipod and therefore obviously use itunes all the time which i find brilliant. I also use itunes to rip my CDs into mp3 format. I do find that the audio quality doesn't seem all that brilliant on some of the mp3s even at 192 bit rate and was just wondering if I should be using a different program for the job. Or should I maybe just change the settings and try a higher bit rate?

Try Exact Audio Copy coupled with the equally free Lame MP3 encoder at the same bitrate as iTunes. It's pretty much the best you'll find for CD ripping to MP3 in my eyes. If it makes no difference to the sound quality, then you've probably just got very sensitive ears.

Or try a different program to play back the mp3s, just to check. I have major quality problems with some programs, but not others.

IIRC you can use the diskwriter option in winamp to write this but as many people have stated EAC is probably the best option overall.

    Best Regards,

Another vote for EAC + Lame (www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htm)

I tend to use the V 0 setting if I'm planning to listen to stuff on a decent system. This guide explains in more detail:
