    Installing XP Media Centre 2005

Hi, Does anyone know where I can get details of the full installation process for a clean install of XP Media Centre 2005.

I am building a new system and have purchased the S/W but the only instructions I can find with a 'Google' are a bit vague

    Thanks

Yeah - fairly straightforward like any other XP build but you get asked for disc 2 halfway thru then one again...

You'll need an up-to-date dvd (mpeg-2) decoder for that side of it to work. Also look for media center specific drivers, especially for your graphics card. ffdshow for the other codecs and that's the basics.

ffdshow will do mpeg2 also if need be but Nvidia Purevideo is excellent.

Then go over here for the rest of the stuff you need

How'd you get ffdshow to play dvd's for you? I've got the little decoder selecting tool for media center but I can't see it on this list. If I get that sorted then it's only a remote to get and I'm away
    Cheers

I use Nvidia Purevideo now but from memory you select the MPEG2 codec in the codec menu item on FFDShow.
