    No Logitech drivers for Vista...

Just received the Business version of Vista with my company Action Pack subscription. Generally quite happy, but I am astonished that Logitech have not (and are not planning) to release any drivers from my MX500 mouse.

Anyone know of a way to map the additional mouse buttons as I used to be able to do in XP? Seems like a fairly sad state of affairs!

I think some people had success using the older software in compatibility mode, otherwise just download the SetPoint software for another mouse and use that, it should come with all the relevant hardware profiles

I tried SetPoint but it didn't show anything up when I fired it up - just a load of "help" information that wasnt very helpful...

Edit: And the XP drivers wont install at all.

The mouse is only a couple of years old! Mental...

Very weird. My Logitech's (MX518) buttons work fine in a normal XP install with the standard MS driver. Supprised this isnt the case in Vista.

Only wild shot I can suggest is removing the mouse from the hardware manager, and "reinstalling" the standard MS driver to see if it picks the buttons up.

The buttons "work", but not as I want them to! I assign window minimise and window close to two of them, which I dont seem to be able to do atm...

It really is rather annoying Logitechs incomptance with Vista drives, they have made no effort to support a multitude of products both new and fairly old. My webcam for instance wasnt correctly installed with the xp installer due to no vista installer being available, so I then have to point vista to the drivers in the logitech folder in program files. Thats all well and good, but the application (which wasnt much cop when it did work under XP) doesnt seem to think the camera is even connected. Fantastic result... The webcam works via VLC and also in MSN, which is bizzare. Its annoying that a new OS comes out and companies can't be assed to make the effort to get the drivers out there. Another friend had fun and games getting his bluetooth logitech keyboard working as well. Its not as if the OS hasnt been in there hands for a little while. They should take a leaf out of Nvidia and Ati's book who have bothered to produce something rather then nothing at all.

Also on another note, I'd really like drivers to come both in executables and also in zip files, I reckon half the problem my mp3 player won't play ball with vista is due to the installer attempting to install in a location that xp would have been fine with but vista doesnt have... If i had a collection of INF's etc I could just tell Vista, here is the folder with the driver / drivers, get on with it

I would LOVE for some drivers for my mx revolution, seems insane that they havent bothered. Heres hoping that they get on with it soon.

Wow, that really does suck. I would have thought Logitech would have had drivers out as soon as Vista beta came out.

I've got 64 bit Vista and I am using 64 bit drivers for my G15 and G7 both of which work, although I do get an error message when LCD media display is started. But otherwise it all works.. which is strange considering Logitech says on the setpoint download that it doesn't work with Vista...

Finally got it working - set the original XP mouseware installer to run in XP compatibility mode. The installed OK and seem to be working fine so far...

Logitech support is appalling with drivers, for a company of their size not to have decent drivers is crazy. The drivers for the mx revolution were terrible. I had to go to a third party source to get the functionality I needed.

I'm thinking long and hard about ever touching one of their products again.
