Props for the idea though.
Yeh Linux really isn't as simple as some make out yet, and maybe it shouldn't be? And like you say, if the normal way of installing it is past them and they can't be bothered to learn how then they wont last long. Still a good idea though and maybe it could be used as a convineance(sp?) tool for people who regularly install it on windows boxes?
Helpfull for some that dont have DVD/CD Drives, or for some (like me) who got bad ISO's every time i dloaded..
I got a decent ISO that checked out finally and the install went nicely, sadly Fedora sucked.
but what do you end up with after? A debian image on your ntfs file system? That sounds lovely and fast, or does it actually properly resize partitions?
I think people are better off by converting people with the use of virtualisation.
That way people can chop n change easily between environments, with no fear of messing up that "important" host OS.
Myself i use VMWare, its very useful, and you don't have to worry about partiiton resizing!
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
out of curiousity i tried it on my old laptop, but fails to boot it... although i suspect that it is indeed the laptop that is at fault (cant have xp on here for some reason or another)
shame i wanted to play around again, and i cant use the netinst either as the cd drive is broken on here too. i'll have to think of another way
