    video capture tips?

at the moment im using hypercam2 to record my screen on games like wow, and im confused on how to get it to record in high quality, it jumps and skips frames all the time, i dont think that its because wow is too demeanding, but it might be :S

do i need to up the key frame rate or something?

alternatively, can someone link me some free software that they know how to use that does the same job

    thanks

    Nick

by the looks of things, Hypercam is designed to capture the windows desktop and applications as opposed to games. I wouldn't be surprised if the software is being overloaded. It alsy probably only captures at 10 - 15 fps as opposed to 25+ for video. It will also be tuned to compress blocks of colour you find in windows apps more efficiently, rather than the random colours you get in games.

I would have said that a hardware solution might be better for this. Actually i would recomend a Hauppauge PVR-150, or something that does hardware MPEG-2 capture.

    I would say fraps personally,

But you do need a powerful pc to record at the same time as playing games!
