    Vista Retail - Multiple Installs?

    All,

Just want to get this cleared up......

What is the deal with Vista Retail. Can you or Can't you install it on multiple machines? I've been told so many different things i'm just confused now!

Some people have said with retail you can install it on as many machines as you like. (not legal surely?) Some said on one PC. Others on 2 PC's?

    Hope someone can help.

    Darren

EDIT: see this link....(reason why confused)

You can have it installed on one machine at a time. If you install on another machine you must first remove it from the initial machine.

pretty pointless considering the price your paying for it. they should allow you to install on at least 2-4 pc's.

cant you buy cd keys fir vista?

It's the CD-key you're paying for... (well, the license it activates anyway)

If you want it on more than 1 PC, then generally OEM is the way to go - retail is better-suited for people who upgrade a lot.

Of course, in the states, you've got the family pack option, which works out much cheaper to cover multiple PCs... it's a real shame it's not available here.

    ...yet.

As for j.o.s.h.1408 I'm afraid I fail to see your logic. Would you say the same for XP? 1 license=1device, simple as.
