Have Microsoft dropped prices for Vista? Or is it just Ebuyer?

I ask because Ebuyer are selling OEM Vista Ultimate (32bit) for £112.99, which is about half what I was expecting.

Am I just being thick, as this is still quite a bit more than XP Pro OEM at £79.91.

(But then home premium OEM at £67.27 is actually cheaper than XP Media Center edition OEM at £73.67)

Now I'm likely to wait six months until I get Vista, as I'll save for a complete new PC at the same time, but while I'll grumble about the price, I won't grumble nearly as much as I thought I would. I also don't think I'll hesitate over getting the ultimate edition, where I originally thought the £250 price tag would put me off.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

Nope, those prices seem about right for OEM across the board.

It's a good £8 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it. Wish I'd waiting another day before ordering now .

Vista Business is the Windows XP Pro equivalent, which is only £5 more. Ultimate comes with a heap of stuff. Also, if you're going to get Vista, go for x64 build if you have a Pentium D, Core 2 Solo, Core 2 Duo, or Athlon 64/X2/FXnn. x64 driver support is much stronger now with the release of Vista than XP x64 despaired in. And 64bit applications should start coming more strongly now.

    XP Pro = Vista Business
XP Home = Vista Home Premium
XP Pro + XP MCE2005 = Vista Ultimate + Ultimate Extras (though the value and use of those is up to you)
