    Question Some Vista Questions

I've been playing about with vista for a few days now, but am still left with a few questions:

    * How can I set firefox to be my default browser? IE always seems to take precedence no matter what I do.

    * I'm using the 64 bit version. Can anyone recommend a free 64 bit anti virus I can use.

    * How can I make it so it automatically logs onto my account?

I can't think anything else I need to know right now, but I'm sure there was more .

    Thanks.

The Free AV that i use is AVAST
Its great tbh....In fact, i binned Norton to use it.

I am running Vista aswell and tbh......McAfee and Norton really do not like it anyway.

Try avast like i said and i dont think you will be disappointed.

Ajbrun, I am running vista business 32bit, and when i installed firefox, i allowed it to be the default when it loaded and it has ever since, even links sent to me on msn open in FF.

As Blitzen said, Avast free will do the job, but if your going to stick with Vista, i would recommend purchasing NOD32

I am running Norton Corporate for Vista and have not had any issues.

Thanks - I have avast now. The reason I asked was I downloaded AVG, but it said I had to have a 64 bit version, and that wasn't free.

I've just tried making firefox the default browser from within FF, but when opening a link from an external program, it still opens in IE.

I defiantly had another query, but I've forgotten it again...

    For FF as default use:

    Right Click Start
    Properties
    Start Menu --> Customize.

    Set FF at the bottom.

    All done

Firefox is already set under that option...

EDIT - that's just to change what appears on the start menu, and that works. I want to be able to open a link from msn for example and for it to always open in firefox.

If I go: Internet options > programs > set programs > set your default programs, I think that's where I need to change something, but firefox isn't even in this list. However, thunderbird works...
