Sound issues with Audigy 2 ZS in Vista

I'm now runing XP & Vista as a dual boot on my system. I've encountered a problem with sound with Vista. Music for example plays fine for about 1 minute and then the quality degrades completely. Other users have reported that it sounds like it's playing underwater.

I'm using Creative's latest driver SBAX_PCDVTBETA_US_2_12_0001 so am unaware of anything else I can try.

If I find a solution I will post back here. If anyone else has a similar problem or knows of a solution I'd be pleased to hear from you.

The only sollution it would seem is to wait for Creative to dish up better non-beta drivers. Judging by my experiences with Creative in the past, it could be a bit of a wait too. Their support forums seem to indicate March as the month in which we'll see new drivers.

I'm using the Audigy 2 ZS with Vista and whilst my sound seems to be fine with the beta drivers, it lacks the options I previously used such as stereo surround to make use of my 5.1 speakers.
