    wireless card software

My brother has just bought a new PC and a wireless adaptor to go with it, and to put it bluntly were stuck....well i am...hes lying around pretending to be asleep.

Ive installed the WiFi software and inserted the card into the PCI slot, and now the software wont load up, and i cant connect to the internet, is there any other freeware around that will do the same job? or can you tell me how to get the microsoft version up?

    Thanks

    Nick

If you've installed the drivers right/windows has automatically installed 'em, then the wireless device should appear in 'Network Connections.'

If its not there, have a look in Device Manager and see if there is an entry for it there, and if its got an '!' or 'x' on the device, indicating a problem of some sort.

If it does, or doesnt - I would remove whatever software you have installed for it, and uninstall the device from Dev. Manager, reboot and see what windows automatically does, if it doesnt, then try the software again I guess.

No other ideas at the mo, I shall post 'em if I get any
