    FLAC 1.1.4 is out

    see here:
    http://flac.cvs.sourceforge.net/*che...tml#flac_1_1_4

When 1.1.3 came out i put together a post with some comparisons between 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 as the newer version had better compression. I can't find the thread now but when i get home i'll do another compression test with 1.1.4.

EDIT: ok thats weird. i searched for "FLAC" and couldn't find the thread, i even just searched the thread titles. Searched for "1.1.3" as well and got nothing. Searched for "goldfrapp" as that was the album i used last time and bingo, the forum finds it. odd.

http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=92593 i'll add the data from testing 1.1.4 to this thread and include the previous post as well when i get home to my archive on Monday.

nope. AV500-100gig and a SE P990i with 4gig mem card

I wanted to have all my music with me when i'm traveling and that was the largest capacity player i could get at the time. My ~160kbit MP3 collection stands at about 85gig. I personally don't see the point in lossless portable audio right now.

the 4gig in my phone is fine for when i'm just wandering about town etc.
