    Rugby World Cup 2007

Who's going to be watching? No doubt young Mr Ross will be glued to it
Still, France/Argentina tomorrow, promises to be a good free flowing match & I think the Argies are going to win, just.

Anyone got any tips for the overall winner?

Well looking forward to this and will be recording the games As for an overall winner, hard to say as I haven't followed the usual teams in the run up to this.

I think that whilst on the face of it, England's group looks to be the most favourable with only SA looking serious competition. However England are going to find it hard against both Tonga & Samoa, and maybe even the yanks. Saturdays match will be interesting.

    Re: Rugby World Cup 2007

Would be great if we could overturn SA and become top of our group - the issues is I don't think the squad (or starting lineup) has had enough 'together' time.

Overall? NZ should win it - but they often get over confident and have lost it in the past...

Who will go through from each of the pools?

Pool A - England and SA
    Pool B - Australia Wales
Pool C - New Zealand and hopefully Scotland
Pool D - France and Ireland

When we know who has got through I will put my next series of predictions up

    Re: Rugby World Cup 2007

Im going to miss half of it

Fly to the US on Sunday, one of the LEAST rugby orientated countries in the world booooo

Mind you I would like to see england turn over SA, but they need to play smart to do it. I personally thinkg Scotland might do well, they don't have too hard a group aside from the usual suspect.

SA for overall winners I would say that cos I was born and raised there but the team does look strong. Haven't watched much Tv lately so does anybody know if the majority of matches will be shown on normal Tv ie ITV? Or will it just be the England matches? I can't remember what happened last World Cup

Just watched Scotland thrash Portugal. Shame it won't be the same when it comes to the All Blacks!

    Re: Rugby World Cup 2007

    Right, I give up - I quit.

It's the first time in a long time that I have been so frustrated with the stupid idiots running our team. We have managed to pick a squad with only 2 people who can play number 10 - one of which will fall apart if he steps on the pitch so if the 2nd gets injured this weeks situation occurs.

So I know... lets play someone from League, who has NEVER played Number 10 in Union before - ad put him in a critical position. I know he is slow - and Cait will be better on the reponse, and good for cover but this is painful.

I'd be tempted to slap Peter Richards on - play him in the centre and Cait at Fly.

I really hope for heavens sake I am wrong and that Farell finds his way - but right now this is just ridiculous.

Ashton knows his days are numbered after picking such a stupid squad.

Farell has played Union before. He was in the six nations for a start.

    Re: Rugby World Cup 2007

I think the big problem with farrel is that The RFU need to justify him swapping codes which is why they really need to play him in the world cup. After all the reason for him swapping codes was for him to be in the team for the world cup.

If he hadnt have had such bad injuries since coming accross he might have settled and actually found a position by now,

Sorry, my fault - that's what I meant to say - that he has not played Number 10 in Union so I've updated my first post - sorry wrote it with such fury....

Just because he was supposed to be in the squad, other things have happened, and we should surely take them in to account?
