    push bike brakes

    whilst i assembled my sisters kids bike i'm seem to pulled the break cable from the break handle, now i dont know how to put the cable back in, help !!!

    it should have a lump on it, if you have pulled that off (very difficult?!) then you need a new cable, otherwise it just hooks on prior to attaching the other end to the break... sober up, try again?

    If you have broken anything, it'll be the part of the lever that holds the stop on the end of the cable. Sometimes they're made of poor metal on kids bikes.

    A photo might help.

    On a standard setup, you need to now undo the cable from the brake arms themselves and pull the cable totally out. Pull the brake lever all the way back, place the head of the cable (with the stop) in the part of the arm you've now exposed to hold it (round thing in a round hole) and re-thread the cable how it was before. Then reattach it to the brake arm.
