FIFA always the talk about sportmanship but they do nothing about it. I wish there was a change in management in FIFA. They even hired people who they sacked before. They are a big factor in ruining the game.
No no, it's offside. There is no debate. 0.1 seconds later he's still offside, though by a different player (the line I positioned for another debate on another forum).
Like I said, I was gutted for Ghana at the time as I too thought they'd be cheated out of a valid goal, but the fact is that unlike the England 'goal', in this case, justice was done.
Holland absolutely have to win it now. They have deserved at least one win in their history, and this is a great chance for them.
I don't know about you, but in my eyes a player being offside doesn't give the opposition the right to deploy a second goalkeeper. Yes, the goal shouldbn't have stood, but Suarez' handball is in my eyes no better than Maradonna's "Hand of God" situation: it was premeditated, and it cost another team a potential match win. Only difference is that he got caught.
And while we're on the matter: as the ref and the linesmen both appear to have missed the offside (not the first offside goal in the tournament, remember) how is the Suarez situation any different to having hauled down a player with a clear goalscoring opportunity (ie a straight red)?
Going by the rest of the questionable decisions made by the WC refs it was perfectly fine and in line with whatever they've been told.
Spain/Parguay was full of poor judgement. Encroachment issues weren't enforced on each penalty. Villar practically grabbing the legs of Fabregas when he "tried" to catch the rebound and escaping any form of punishment.

I would love the Dutch to win the World Cup. But the Germans are really good - their counter attacks are very good. Very clinical - even with low ball possession, everytime they got the ball, they executed.
Yes it was premeditated, and yes it was a straight-red. Of that I'm not complaining at all. The problem was that a free-kick should have been awarded for the events leading up to the goal, and had one been, then Suarez wouldn't have been penalised for the handball regardless of whether he did or didn't thereafter. He's still a cheating bugger, whether it was premeditated or instinctive (as the majority of pundits seemed to say at the time).
Don't confuse me criticising the lack of an offside flag with defending Suarez.
All I'm saying is that for that particular incident, the fair result was that a goal wasn't scored.
