    Headphones for running

    Hey People.

Not really sure wether this should be here or audio/visual but hey ho

I have been running for a while now and whilst not great I`m getting better

The problem is that I have been using a set of shure in ear headphones for running and after a while they start to fall out due to sweating.

I want to buy a new set of ear phones that wont fall out and wont get damaged by sweating.

Budget isnt the most important consideration more that they will do the job so I will pay a bit extra for a good pair but I`m not gonna spend over 100 quid

SO what do you guys suggest?

    Re: Headphones for running

I've not done much running in them, but my Bose headphones have a good fit which doesn't seem to move about that much.. Not cheap for them, but very good.

I totally agree with Dave on this one. I have a pair of the newer style Bose earphones and they fit nicely and are definitely worth the money! Used them for various gym activities including running and they have never fallen out.

    Sennheiser OMX 60-VC

    Sennheiser OCX 880

The hook design makes them ideal.

    I use these Sennheisers
THey sound pretty good, don't block all extraneous noise, and don't give you that irritating cable-knocking noise you can get from in-ear headphones.
They're pretty comfortable, but can feel a bit tight when new.

    Re: Headphones for running

Cheap and sturdy is what you need.

You'll sweat all over them, you'll rip the cable etc etc.

Then buy a cheapo mp3 player to go with em.

Quality is not what you need here.

    I use these.

Earbuds just don't stay in when I run at all.

    Re: Headphones for running

The bose look good but like b0redom said earbuds fall out when I'm running and with me doing a half marathon soon I want to get something that wis be comfortable for extended periods.

The round the back ones look good but do they stay in or do they get loose with time?

    Re: Headphones for running

Well I've probably done a few hundred miles with my ones - cycling and running combined. The only time they've come out is the other day when the cable got caught on a bush!

I've tried a bunch of other ones, including the bud type - which ALWAYS fall out - even with swimming type earbuds, and over the ear type which are OK too. I've just bought some over the ear swimming ones - I'll let you know about them later in the week if you're interested.

When my 18 month old daughter pulled off the earbuds from my previous headband style ones and lost them, I went with the above. Probably not going to be the highest fidelity in the world ever, but then you're going to be sweating in them. For me, OK sound quality and tough, beats hi fidelity and fraglie - at least for workout gear.

    As ever though YMMV.

    Re: Headphones for running

Ordered a set of the philips ones that b0redom suggested
Got them from HMV as they where 25 quid and postage is free.

Hopefully they`ll be here tomorrow and I can take them out for a test drive one night after work

    Re: Headphones for running

I recently went with the Bose IE2, and they're pretty awesome.

I've also used the Sennheiser PMX 680 before adn they rock too. Can't go wrong with either.

I suggest checking out this article:http://www.workoutheadphones.org/bes...s-for-running/ as they cover a lot of good headphoens that are worth checking out.

    Re: Headphones for running

If you get earbuds I don't think you can beat changing the tips to foam if running. The rubber ones are nasty when you get sweat on them. With the foam ones you can either wash them or chuck and replace.
