Playlists for running

Hey people,

I have my first half marathon coming up towards the end of the month and want to make sure I have my prep sorted.

Atm I run to Los Campesinos and matt and Kim but I was wondering if anyone has a full running sound track or an app that can look through my music collection and make one..

I use audiobooks rather than music. Something with a strong plotline and few characters like Lee Child's Jack Reacher series or any of David Baldacci's books (except for One Summer which was rubbish IMO).

Helps take your mind off the running.

I applaud your taste in Reacher books (Tom Cruise??? really?)

Not sure how I would react to listening to a book while excercising tbh, music has a beat and upbeat stuff can spur you on, whereas with a book, I would be busy attempting to follow the story.

Might have to try it tho, my excercise regime is currently non existent, and I have promised myself a new gym membership soon

Depends on the exercise to be honest. If I were doing weights, then maybe music might be more appropriate, long distance running though, can get really boring really quickly. I'm way more likely to go and keep going if I have something to occupy my mind. The caveat is obviously that it has to be well written and acted/narrated, otherwise if you zone out for a couple of minutes, you can get completely lost!

Tom Cruise is playing Jack Reacher in the film mate, obviously cos he is 6'6, with arms like a gorilla and is erm, blonde....

Major thread diversion

Back on topic kind of.

I found a free app that has analysed my mp3 collection and put the BPM for each tune. Now I am gonna make a playlist with songs at about 120-140 bpm
