    Fitness first question

Guys, are any of you members of Fitness first ?
What sort of paymentdo you have to make initially when you sign up.

I am trying to join their off-peak £14.95pm package but my monthly fee is somehow £29.95pm and there's also something one-off called BODYFIRST worth £39.95, which seems to be compulsory! I bet there's an admin fee as well ?

    Re: Fitness first question

I have looked at Fitness First myself, in my area there are 3 within easy reach but I have not been impressed with the gyms. In each branch the equipment looks old and worn, I got a trainer to walk me through the gym and each one had machines that were out of use waiting on maintenance. So that's three gyms that I visited over 2 days and each one had issues with equipment. In the end I joined the gym at my local golf club, it was both cheaper and better equipped and some of the staff were ex Fitness First trainers that wanted to work in better conditions.

It might be better where you live, but look at a few gyms like Golds, Virgin Active etc... before shelling out, lots are running offers to entice people to join, some are a lot more transparent with their pricing as well, so you know exactly how much they will cost you from the start.

    Re: Fitness first question

fitness first are an absolute rip-off. try either joining one of the low price budget gyms, all around the country or a council one..

fitness first = long contracts, multiple "fees" before you sign up and an expensive monthly rate.

    Re: Fitness first question

It seems the £15pm rate only applies in a handful of remote branches. :@

This is what I can see :
    £30pm off-peak ( Central London ) + £39.95 initial induction class

    Re: Fitness first question

In the end I registered the gym at my regional team, it was both less expensive and better outfitted and some of employees were ex Health First instructors that desired to perform in better circumstances.

    Re: Fitness first question

I got a instructor simply to move me through the gym and each one had devices that were out of use patiently waiting on servicing. So that's three health clubs that I frequented over 2 times and each one had concerns with devices. In the end I registered the gym at my regional team, it was both less expensive and better outfitted and some of employees were ex Health First instructors that desired to perform in better circumstances...
