    David Beckham Omitted from Olympics

The Manager Stuart Pearce has omitted the popular David Beckham from his Olympic team for 'Footballing reasons'. Kind of sounds similar.

Not sure about you but Micah Richards doesn't deserve a place for refusing to play for England and not wanting to be on the standby list, he doesn't deserve to be on the Olympic team. There is noone more deserving and worked hard than this man in the over 25 category.

Shocking, his City links has got the better of Pearce

Re: David Beckham Omitted from Olympics

Bit of a disgrace if you ask me, for all he has done for football and the Olympic bid he deserves it, his experience and presence would be a huge boost to the squad.

And in the short list there were only 3 players over 25 anyhow, Beckham, Giggs and Bellamy, why ditch him and bring in someone new?, why have him in the shortlist if he was never going to pick him.

No knighthood for you Pearce, expecting lots of empty seats now at the football matches, I bet a lot of people were going just to see Beckham play.

    Baffled by the decision.

I would actually not pick Micah Richards on his current attitude to be honest. Everyone dreams of playing for England, and for his arrogance and stupidity he rejects England. That certainly deserves a Ban from INternational football to show him a lesson.

Re: David Beckham Omitted from Olympics

Beck's worked his tail off to get the Olympics to London and for him to be omitted from the team just feels wrong. I appreciate his class and decision to take the high road with his comments regarding the decision but we all know deep down he feels a bit betrayed.

That's kind of sad, even though it's true.

You Don't choose to play for your Country, it chooses you
Incorporate this into the Olympics Game Charter??? This is very well said!
