At 8pm 19th June 2014, while everyone was SUPPOSED to be watching the game...

.. I went out rabbit shooting

I do enjoy football, but I just didn't feel the vibe.. so I sat in a lovely green field with the sun setting and watched more than I shot.

Two bunnies did fall over for me, but I spent a long time sneezing like a wazoo with hayfever, laughing at the situation to myself as I held my sleeve over my nose trying to keep quiet and all the time misting up my glasses

Anyway... after an hour .. and for the second time since buying my new HW95 .. the safety click was loud enough to frighten off the best shot of the evening...I texted Dak to find he was sat 45 miles away in another hedge awaiting bambi.

Either way.. I think it's vaguely possible that we both chose the right sport last night...

    2 nil to me anyway.

Well I was watching the game but I can still jump on the "not feeling the vibe" bandwagon. Not sure why but this World Cup just hasn't been a source of excitement or much joy for me - and that's even before it started. Maybe football's losing its lustre, or maybe I've moved on, or maybe the game in genuinely getting worse but I've little motivation to follow the tournament any further.

There won't be any shooting for me though. The last time I got to fire any sort of firearm was while living in the USA. I expect that my next chance of shooting will also only be when I get back over there.

It was a lot of fun. Definitely preferred rifles over pistols.

Missed the first half to go do my usual Kettlebell class. Caught the halftime score on the gym TV so decided not to head home for a while and did some frogstands and planche pushups instead. Was really nice as the weights room at the gym was almost deserted.

you should make us a quick film showing you doing such mentally hard things.. I couldn't do a planche pushup with a crane supporting me!

Only if I can edit out all the times I collapse!

Basic frogstands are pretty easy once you know the technique - you just loop your knees round your elbows and job jobbed. Full planche is VERY hard and being honest mine isn't great yet - wobbly and usually have to bend knees a bit. And I've been practising regularly for over 3 months now. Reckon I'll have nailed it properly by end of August or so....

'It was a beautiful midsummer day and the telly was a bit boring so I thought I'd go & put an end to the life of something that was also out enjoying the lovely green field and the sunset.'

    That just makes me sad.

Cue the sporting argument, cue the pest control argument.. if you can square it, you can.. I can't personally.

(Not expecting anyone to concur but on a public forum I guess I can be permitted to non-combatively post, not to argue the other side, just as a voice of that side - even if I'm the minority - or else what use it is having beliefs and points of view).
