Re: Motivate Me: The HEXUS Excercise thread : post your pain ;-)
Having been on the "Breakup" diet recently (I lost a stone... excellent), I also impulse purchased a Swimmo swim watch and have been walking with a friend (no timetables or we won't do it ;))
I'm trying to get myself fit enough to swim masters - and am also investigating this "Wild Swimming" malarkey. It's just the getting there...
Next week eh?

Wild swimming as in open water? If so, do it. I HATE swimming in a pool now.

Interesting!! Ingress is almost like geo-caching combined with capture the flag. You have Goruck challenges and some of the mission banners are dozens of km in length - I had a nice 40km walk around London on Saturday doing a few.
Edit!!
You also get lots of badges and levels,so for example you need to walk 2500km to get the top medal for walking, etc.

Was just guilted into doing the Boxhill Ballbuster this weeekend. 8 mile run loop, 3x 8 mile bike loop then a final 8 mile run loop each one finishing with hitting the zigzag ascent of Box Hill in Surrey.
Highly recommended if you're a masochist!

Given this thread is subtitled "post your pain" I should probably drop this in here:

Part of my preparation for the Tour de Yorkshire sportive in ... eek, less than 3 weeks time! The pain bit happened about half way up the last climb when my left knee started giving out. I'm currently in bed with a tubigrip on it, hoping rest + ibuprofen will calm it down enough to get out over the next 2 weekends.... :o

Done London marathon yesterday in 4h 13min. My first marathon ever :) Shame I had to zig-zag between people till the end - I'm sure with a clear route my time would've been better. Plus had to stand & wait 1.5h before I could cross the start line. Plus it was rather warm :o

Wow! Great time! I keep applying, but I never get a place. :shocked2:

Welp, how did the TdY Ride go? Glad you asked ;)

I've signed up to a service that produces video tracks of your ride, too:

In short, 80 miles, over 2000m of climbing, 6h 15m in the saddle out of 7h 40m start-to-finish time. I walked half of two hills, both in the last 20 miles - apparently 60 miles of climbing is all my legs have in them ;) And I still managed to sprint for the line, so I'm not at all unhappy :) And Yorkshire Air Ambulance pocket £200 which is a very worthy cause IMO.
It was huge fun, and GOOD LORD no I'm not doing it again next year. Probably. Maybe.
