For the footie fans - better get your Amazon prime membership updated. Apparently it’s the first time anyone other than Sky or one of the established broadcasters has gained these rights.

It's a step in the right direction, going onto a streaming service as opposed to archaic contract TV. Hopefully it's the beginning of getting rid of the nonsense no 3pm broadcasts, where every other country in the world can watch those games bar the one where the league is.

It won't be long before the TV licence is completely dead, and good riddance to it as well.

I grew up on a farm, a proper, fully-functioning dairy farm. I moved away, now get around 400Mbps and, you guessed it, there's still plenty of milk in the fridges
Those who decide to work in the rural areas do so by choice. They don't have to put up with a lot of the annoyances I find within urban environments but they don't get fibre.
Sort of. I suppose it's an open question as to whether ITV Digital / NTL / Setanta / ESPN / BT were established broadcasters, most of which were disastrous. Still plenty of time for BT to throw in the towel as well.
It has been a generally messy situation for a long while now. Most supporters just want to watch one team or the big games, and pay one subscription, but it has been spread around (I believe due partially to competition laws) amongst a variety of players who all want a separate monthly subscription.
The main issue is that people are willing to spend silly money on the subscriptions - I can sit here all day and complain about all the different companies involved, and the insane amounts that Sky charge, but if people are willing to pay it then it won't go away any time soon. In an ideal world (I think) it would be a choice of monthly sub for everything or a reasonably priced PPV option, but unless the market forces it, it just won't happen.
For now I'm just not taking part in it - have never paid for Sky, and only take BT Sport if it's free with another service e.g. internet. Amazon Prime I already have, but would not be paying through the nose for it just for the sake of live football.
Least helpful post of the week- thanks for the effort- no really.
Living in rural Britain is not a choice for most people in that stuation. And broadband is not the only issue, as well you must know if you moved from a dairy farm to a large Scottish city.
I pay my TV licence quite happily, and I have a half decent 70mb download. I still watch terrestrial. And enjoy it.

Tell it to this bloke, and the thousands like him. Broadband is not a right, it's a priveledge.
Air, water, food and a home are rights.
