    Sleep Trackers

    Anyone here use one?
I'm using Autowake/Autosleep/HeartWatch on my Series 3 iWatch and its picked up some pretty random HR values when I've been asleep, usually around 5am, a low of 41 and high of over 120..

I know they aren't as accurate as the chest monitors but I wouldn't have thought it would vary that much when I'm asleep..

Do you ever wake up with a headache? I suffer from sleep apnoea, which can cause an elevated heart-rate due to lowered oxygen levels. Of course REM sleep and dreaming can also cause increased heart-rate too.

I wake up and cant be arsed to get out of bed, but thats less of an issue now I'm using apps to wake me up based on what sort of sleep I'm in, I tend to drink a pint of water in the 30 or so minutes before bed and one when I wake up so its not a hydration thing causing headaches if that would cover up the apnoea thing.

Dehydration can certainly cause headaches, but morning headaches can be sign of sleep apnoea too. Severe snoring and daytime tiredness, poor concentration & napping can also be symptoms.

Let me guess, apnoea is a side effect of me being a bit of a chubber these days as well lol

Err...well yes, being over-weight is also associated with sleep apnoea. But there are plenty of thin people who suffer with it too - it can be just a physiological congenital disorder, i.e. something you're born with, or predisposed to. If your problems persist, it's probably worth getting checked out by your GP.

As Mr Jim said, that's an aggravating and common factor, but not a necessary one.

It is, as he said, wortb getting checked because it can be a serious issue, or be a symptom of some other serious issue. It can also sometimes have a relatively trivial fix.
