Can't answer your question but I do watch the (American) UFC with some fascination and revulsion!

The UFC in the Albert hall was held at the back end of 2002. Remember going round a mate's house who had it on pay-per-view. It was brutal ..... just remember this bloke slamming the other guy in the head with his elbow, blood going everywhere - it wasn't exactly the last night of the proms!

no the UFC is not going to be in the UK anytime soon, they lost alot of money of it last time

however if anyone has seen The Ultimate Fighter reality show run by the UFC the 3rd series will have 2 british fighters in it

btw a side note - Ive trained a few times with one of the guys who fought in the UFC at the Royal Albert Hall

Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz will be the coaches, too. Should be interesting.

My interest in MMA has been rekindled recently.

Don't they call the UK version 'cage' something or other? I saw it on one of the Sky channels. It was very low budget but equally brtual.

There are plenty of MMA promotions in the UK, this weekend there is a big event in Coventry (Cagewarriors), a smaller event in Doncaster (Ultimate Force, a mate is fighting on this show)

On december 3rd in London there is 'Cage Rage', they show highlights of this on Sky. It may appear 'low budget' but Cage Rage has some of the best fighters in the world (seriously, it has alot of UFC and Pride veterans)

MMA is the best sport in the world imo. Great fun to watch and to train in

Wasn't there riot at end of one of the UK events that made UFC wary of coming back to the UK?
Bored of the old one, new one coming soon

no, the reason why the UFC havent come back to the UK is 1) they lost a ton of cash and 2) its taking off big time in America right now

the UFC last came to the UK over 3 years ago, at a Cagewarriors event this year I think there was a small 'riot' (small and short lived). the only reason it happened is because the people who own the venue (Coventry icedome thingy) insisted on using their own security staff who tbh couldnt prevent a fight in a playground. The police were called as a precaution, it was blown out of all proportion
