Lambda-tek often seem to have very good prices on various items I've been interested in, but I swear every time I've clicked on the link to check stock, they have never had any to actually buy....Quote:

Edit 2: The extra crap is a mounting bracket which could be useful and a copy of Acronis' True Image.

There was another thread and someone suggested that 64gb is minimum you should have for boot drive. Is this really true?
Well all my programs and windows 7 install take up about 15gb but then i dont have any games installed. I think i might just get the kingston especially as you can actually buy one!
I think 30 would be pushing it a bit too much 40gb is probably ok but it depends on your use
Yeh well obviously this is fast evolving tech so by the time OS drives are needing to be bigger ill probably have a new one! and also I can always install programs on a HDD if i run out of space.
Suppose you could always buy another one and raid them or something. I assume most people here wipe their disks quite often so its not a big deal.
hmmmmm, actually i just found the corsair over at ebuyer in stock - i know its £20 more but thats not really an issue for me and 32GB is fine for me - Im thinking it may be a better bet actually - decisions decisions!
EDIT: the main problem is i cant find reviews for the 32GB version only the 128 version :/
Well today being christmas I now have the drives and am looking to put them in. Now I'm wondering what is the best way to do this?
I was thinking about installing the drives and setting up the raid 0 array, then it came with a hard drive cloning cd so I was thinking of just copying the data files onto another computer and then cloning the drive.
Or is it best to back up the data from the current hard disk (music etc...), and format the disk, create the raid array and install a fresh copy of windows on it. Then once its all set up copy the files back to the sata hard disk?
