OCZ Vertex 2e SSD help required.
I bought a Vertex 2e 60GB and being lazy (and not aware) I just used TI to copy my win7 install to it.
Then I realised that it was probably not the smart thing to do so then did a fresh install of windows 7 on it. when I ran AS-SSD it showed as '31k bad' which I found out means that the drive is not aligned properly. I tried to fix this using Gparted and now it says '1055k bad'.
I've tried running OCZ's 'sanitary erase' but, either it does not list the drive or it tries to erase then give an error code'04'.
So what is the best way to get it how it should be ? I'm not bothered about wiping the drive clean.

I'm no expert with ssd's but i think this may help (on any search engine type trim support for windows 7 in) and click on the wiki link it tells about programs that reset your ssd and stuff i think you should give that a try. i've literally just received my ocz vertex 2e 60gb i hope this dont happen to me
Re: OCZ Vertex 2e SSD help required.
You don't need to align SSD if you're using Windows 7.
Also TRIM and GC work out of the box.
Format and sanitary erase using Windows boot disk should sort you out.

If you do a fresh install, win 7 aligns the SSD, but he has said he used "TI" i am not sure what this is but I suspect it an image software that may well have not aligned the partition.
I would do a fresh proper Win 7 install and delete the partition with the advance install options and then let the drive sort out its self, as it will probably need to do its own clean up using its controller to get all the blocks internal to the drive sorted out over time. "Edit" Sorry the same as you said spoon.
This is all just a guess, if its the best thing to do, but it is what I would do for a start.

Well, I used Diskpart to clean the drive, Could not get OCZ's sanitary erase to work, I used Windows installation to format the drive and it left a small 100MB partition at the front of the drive and installed Win7 on the larger partition - it seems to have sorted it out now. AS SSD now reports 103424 - OK and the score is higher - 327.
