Right, might be looking at getting one this weekend.
Has much changed? I saw that OCZ had released a new one, is the controller much better than Corsair or are they still good enough?
Also, am I worth waiting till Xmas for the price drop or is that unlikely to happen?
Price range is key here.
OCZ/Corsair/G.Skill/Patriot/Crucial all offer driver around the £100 at 60GB capacities - with the exception of the Crucial the other 4 drives should perform near enough the same as they all use the same controller with firmware and perhaps NAND chips used being the difference.
The Crucuial has decent sequential reads but i think its slower when it comes to random read/write than the other 4 drives.

Not an expert but i have been thinking about getting the 64gb crucial c300 one. It seems by far the best deal because it is roughly the same price as all the others and seems to have similar performance yet also it supports sata III therefore in the future if you upgrade to a motherboard that supports SATA III (there are alot of amd ones out there that support it particularly on the 790 and 8xx chipsets I believe) you get the benefit of the additional data throughput. Can't remember where but i saw a review comparing a c300 crucial on SATA III to the competition on SATA II and in benchmarks the lead was significant, I don't know whether that would translate into real world performance but since it is roughly the same price and has similar performance on SATA II to the others to me personally it looks like the best bet, also it is a crucial and they are a very reliable company.
EDIT: You can see in kalniel's post on the graph that in some of the tests the crucial does better on SATA III but not in others furthermore the improvement on SATA III isn't as significant as I thought ... still hope I gave you food for thought :(
EDIT2: it seems to do better in the read rather than the write, furthermore SATA III yields a slight improvement on the read benchmarks. Since I would imagine that you do alot more reading to your disk rather than writing, the crucial ones still look like the best bets IMO.
I have a Crucial C300 64GB, because my Sandforce Corsair F60 died, and I didn\'t fancy entering into the Sandforce lottery again.
My thoughts - I\'m running the drive on Sata II, not because I don\'t have SATA III but because the Marvell SATA III controller is useless and reasons unknown to me is slower than the Intel controlled SATA II. I can\'t really tell any difference between the Crucial and Corsair in day to day use, I haven\'t noticed the relatively slow write speed of the Crucial, but I don\'t install much to the boot drive.
My opinion is that if you are going to be using the drive for a boot drive and want it now, is to go for a Crucial. However I am hoping that the Sandforce firmware gets sorted out, so that I can get one for a more "all round" drive for my CULV laptop, where there\'ll be more writing than I do on my desktop boot drive.
