New SSD and Graphics card?

Really not advisable with a new OS and more so with an SSD, you'll run into problems with 'alignment' plus Win7 configures itself for SSDs automatically on installation (switching off features such as Defrag, etc). Presumably the limited space of the SSD would mean you would have to remove a few things anyway.

Yeah, I had a feeling that was the case, busy cleaning off programmes now. Always worth asking though

OK so I think I have a plan, if I can scrape the extra money together.
2* EVGA 460 1Gb's = £300ish and a Vertex 2E 90Gb SSD = £150

From what I can find out the power consumption of 2 460's looks the same as 2 8800GT's so I shouldn't have power issues. The 460's also seem to give alot more performance than the 6870 I was going for.
The Vertex 2E looks faster than the C300 on a Sata2 connection, and for a bit more cash can get 26GB more space.

Anything I've missed here?

Hmm I can only see it for £98.25 at the moment on ebuyer, but even so that does save me half the money that i'm missing.

Quite possibly, but my mobo is SLI only (yes its THAT old)
