Yeah, I'm gonna reinstall tonight. No harm in doing it now, Windows only takes about 5 mins to install ;)
Result: it's just as slow... and now it takes longer to boot as it has to go through an AHCI procedure and reboot after that. Any way to stop it from doing that? I think it hasn't been trimmed?
That does not sound right at all. When I eventually got Windows 7 installed properly with AHCI the performance difference was noticeable.
You should be getting results close to this.

I am. The drive is rated up to 285mb/s though. That's almost exactly the speeds I'm getting iirc.
Same as before then.
Have you got the AMD ACHI drivers installed?
With Windows 7 ACHI drivers:

With AMD ones:

Granted, it isn't the same drive but look at the improvement.
Edit: Disregard the Intel drive results.
Yeah. Will try to install AMD AHCI drivers?
Apparently it's not as fast :(

Btw come on steam...
No good, can't even find them tbh and from what I've read they aren't up to scratch
I tried the AMD drivers and didn't notice much difference, If anything a lower score on AS SSD. However, OCZ suggests using ATTO to benchmark their drives.
The last AMD AHCI was dated 13/12/2010 version 10.12 available here http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...win7-64.aspx#3 if you want to try it.
Right I installed it. Disaster. Far too slow to even use windos, freezes every few seconds. How do I uninstall this? :S It's sodding reinstalled itself too.
Oh thankyou Christ, it's over. I managed to get rid of it eventually.
