in actual real terms there is very little difference between the two. on a benchmark raid would win but for actual day to day use the best option would be the cheaper of the two.
I run a 60gb ssd and then a 500gb sata for data and a 1tb for steam both of mine are sata 2 though

Well, I say that, I already have. Got one in my netbook and one in my desktop (albeit different capacity). Okay, it's not a benchmark winner, but the difference between good SSDs is pretty minimal. What you want is something hugely faster than a standard mechanical hard disk, which they are.
