    Question Hard Drive Mirroring Software

    Hi,

I am getting a new hard drive for my laptop soon, both drives are SATA and I will be using an external enclosure to copy/write each drive, well one at a time as I dont have 2 enclosures.

Anyway my hard drive has a factory installed hidden partition, does anyone know any software(preferbly freeware) that can do an exact mirror of the current hard drive including that hidden partition.

The original hard drive is 100GB and the new one will be 250GB or 500GB, both 2.5" sata.

    Regards
    Jon

    Re: Hard Drive Mirroring Software

Yes & yes, I've tried it and it works fine. I suggest cloning the drive & actually using the cloned disk for a while to check everything copied okay, perhaps a chkdsk also, and also attempting a manufacturer OS restore & then repeating the cloning process again.

    Re: Hard Drive Mirroring Software

Ok cool thanks, I will check it out, my current hard drive has no errors as far as I know, changing it as wanting something bigger really as I do a lot of 3D work on it.

    Thanks for the advice

    Re: Hard Drive Mirroring Software

Just wondered, do both drives need to be connected at the same time, as both hard drives will be out of the laptop? And I only have one caddy.

    Regards
    Jon
