Imminent impulse purchase: SSD. Shall I??

Please note, the focus here is on my impulsivity!!
Basically, I am a bit stressed, havent spent a great deal on myself, and am likely to be clicking on some sort of 'buy' button on some website somewhere within the next couple of hours, but thought I should run it past you clever guys and gals before I do so.

My main rig is generally coping ok with games, but purchases now are with one eye on my future rig, which will be housed in a Silverstone Fortress FT03 (mATX tower-type).

I want to buy an SSD, just because, well, the usual reasons. Totally dont need, but want

On Scan at the moment is this:

    Crucial 64GB RealSSD M4 for £89.
To me, this is within a budget that I can spend without feeling too much regret.

Is there any other SSD that I should keep in mind? A previous-gen OCZ, for example?
    Cheers ears

A fine drive, but also consider: http://forums.hexus.net/current-barg...5-inc-vat.html

It's 15 quid more, but you get a few extra gig.

I'm not a fan of Sandforce, so I'd recommend the above two first, but you won't go 'wrong' with them if you decide to go down that route either

Don't go near OCZ, too many quirks, particularly with TRIM which turns Linux swap activation into a multi-minute event, they're basically more tweaked toward benchmarks, and windows host firmware updating, etc. Pure nightmare.

    Crucial should be alright, though.

The Crucial one looks a great bet. I don't think you will regret the £89 for the performance increase.

Re: Imminent impulse purchase: SSD. Shall I??

Bought the Kingston in the end, thanks to everyone.
The additional "GBage" tempted me more than the raw speed, although i noticed that the Kingston looked to have higher write speeds anyway.
Also picked up a £20 MS bluetrack mouse which I needed, so feeling a little happier in myself now (shopping therapy - wonderful, until the buyer's remorse kicks in ).

Have now got to think about when i'll have time to do a proper Win 7 full re-install, inc apps etc

Edit: As an aside (and not actually part of my decision-making above), but i've been noticing just how sloooooow iTunes is for me, and am hoping that I see an improvement there (both when loading, and when adding new tracks). Admittedly i have over 30k tracks, but still... i have a quad-core processor with 6GB, 64bit install: It shouldn't be hanging as much as it does, if it were written properly.

I'd be interested to see the AS-SSD results for that drive.
