Recommend me SSD for £200 (ex VAT)

    Good Afternoon

I've got £200 (ex VAT) to spend from work on a SSD. What should I get?

This is for my Samsung Q320 laptop

    Great workplace!!

I would be inclined to go for a larger SSD instead of a faster one especially if the laptop has a SATA2.0 interface.

This 180GB OCZ SSD should do the job:

Cool, thanks for the reply. Looking for reliability more than anything else

I've been looking at Crucial M4 or Intel 320 series. I will check out OCZ now

If reliability is your main concern then you should only be looking at Intel tbh. The Intel 320 120gb is a refined version of the x-25, which was the most reliabile last-gen ssd.

I second this for laptop use. Although compatibility issues are less common these days laptops are still in general “fussier” than desktops. Any current generation SSD will wipe the floor with a 2.5” mechanical HDD. My old X-25 G2 completely changed the behaviour (all good ways) of my wife’s laptop.

You'll get a G3 160GB Intel SSD for that. I'll eventaully get around to buying one of those myself.
