    Another which SSD thread

    Hi guys
I'm looking for a sata 2 SSD at least 120 gig
I use my pc just for gaming so I would like a drive which is going to be best for this
The intel drive is about the max i would like to spend. So max spend is around £180

I’ve been looking at the intel 320 as its got a 5 year warranty is it worth the extra notes?
I know in real world I wont notice the difference in drives with different benchmarks.

I was ready to order the intel then seen that scan have the samsung drive on today only offer bringing it under £150

Would it be best to stick with the intel? any other suggestions to throw a spanner in the works?

If I could save some money and get a different drive that would be great. Have OCZ sorted their Firmware issues?

Buy a sata3 SSD, I'd go for either an Intel or Crucial one(for the best performance) or for a compromise between performance and costs go for a Kingston.

A Crucial M4 or Corsair Force Series GT would be good choices depending on which SSD controller you prefer. Both review well with the latest SandForce typically being faster while both undercut the equivalent OCZ and bring them within reach of your budget.

No idea if the Corsair's have had similar issues to the OCZ's using a similar controller. Hopefully someone else can answer that.

    Re: Another which SSD thread

I chose Intel 320 for the warranty and low power in my laptop and HTPC, but for my main PC I picked the Crucial m4, it's also got a good warranty but it's fast and has no real issues.

Crucial m4 128GB I would say for you.

And the price now is £86 each. You can simply buy two of them and maybe Raid

Smile Re: Another which SSD thread

    Thanks for the input.

I've decided to go for the M4. Scan have it for £161, in the today only section.

Its going to be replacing a WD 150 GB Velociraptor so no more noise from my hard drive

    Cheers again people
