Question SSD with the ICH7 chipset?

    Hi folks,

What is compatibility like with the ICH7? My server has an older mobo but I'd like to put a 60GB SSD in for the boot drive.

I'm just wondering how the older chipset will affect things? I'm guessing TRIM won't work? I currently have a Corsair F120 in my desktop which I'm happy with but Corsair didn't reply to my question on their own forums.

Any thoughts? I'd rather not have to buy a whole new setup just for the SSD.

    Cheers
    Paul.

ICH7 does allow TRIM and will work fine with SSDs.

You will probably need to put it in AHCI mode and download the latest drivers from Intel though.
