Hiya!
Now with HDD prices as they are, I'm in a predicament, do I keep these as backup or get rid?
They are surplus drives as I no longer need the extra storage as I've done away with the NAS I use to have, just simply putting one of the 2 Samsung drives I've got into the HTPC with a SSD.
The WD drive comes from a separate build, well my browsing rig, its been dismantled for some time now, I don't really have the inclination to rebuild it. So with a small SSD already in it, I've been thinking the HDD can go to, as it pretty much never has anything saved to it!
So what would you value these drives at?
I'll give a bit more info into them to help with the valuation!
The Samsung F4 I've had for a year if not more IIRC, brought locally, thought these were in warranty, it seems upon checking the serial, these are "Out of Service Area" drives. They've been used lightly, quick scan reveals they are in good condition as expected!
The WD Black drive I've had for over 2 years IIRC, it does in fact have warranty, well IT DID until I noticed there is damage to the label on the drive, its in full working order, but there seems to be a note of warranty being VOID if the label is damaged, which I was devastated with.
So, want to give us some pointers?
Thanks!
