    2.5" HDD (advice sought)

So, need a 2.5" for my gaming laptop, but as we all know, prices are insane now, so....

Can an external hard drive (portable one) be bought and hard drive taken out?

if so any you can recommend as cheap and good.

Set Boot order to USB first.

    Yes and no.

I have found some Western Digital and Samsung USB drives to contain "native" USB drives. This means that the USB connector is built straight into the back of the hard drive that's inside the enclosure (no SATA port anywhere in sight).
So be sure to do some research before spending money on any specific drive.

If your laptop has a eSATA port, you can buy a eSATA caddy and plug in a drive. Otherwise, the answer is No.

No, as SUMMONER said, the answer is maybe, but do a bit of googling first.
